當地時間6月26日深夜，伊朗南部波斯灣沿岸錫里克地區傳出爆炸聲。美軍中央司令部隨即在社交媒體發帖證實對伊朗發動打擊，以此“強力回應霍爾木茲海峽過境商船遇襲事件”。伊朗伊斯蘭革命衛隊目前已表示，為回應此次侵略，革命衛隊海軍打擊了美軍在該地區的駐扎點。
