近日，2024京領(lǐng)諾獎創(chuàng)新論壇暨全球國際學(xué)校頒獎典禮在北京國家會議中心隆重舉行，啟明星學(xué)校登上“2024中國國際學(xué)校競爭力百強(qiáng)榜”、“2024中國國際學(xué)校品牌價(jià)值百強(qiáng)榜”等，執(zhí)行總校長Daniel Williams受邀發(fā)表專題演講。

諾獎創(chuàng)新論壇堅(jiān)持學(xué)術(shù)引領(lǐng)、創(chuàng)新驅(qū)動，是國際學(xué)校領(lǐng)域最具影響力的年度慶典之一。

本次論壇邀請了以諾貝爾獎經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、醫(yī)學(xué)、物理獎得主為代表的世界頂尖學(xué)者，以及來自全國數(shù)十所知名國際或私立學(xué)校共同參與，探討國際教育的趨勢和未來，分享創(chuàng)新人才培養(yǎng)的思路和實(shí)踐。

啟明星執(zhí)行總校長Daniel Williams受邀出席論壇，并現(xiàn)場發(fā)表《培育社會創(chuàng)新的文化》（Cultivating a Culture of Social Innovation）專題演講，介紹了啟明星學(xué)校的歷史和正在全校范圍內(nèi)實(shí)施的社會創(chuàng)新項(xiàng)目的源起。他談到學(xué)生和啟明星社區(qū)成員應(yīng)用新穎的方法解決全球和當(dāng)?shù)氐膯栴}，給聽眾留下了深刻的印象。

談到啟明星獲獎，Williams校長說：

啟明星的教育事業(yè)并非以追求排名為動力。相反，我們專注于為學(xué)生培養(yǎng)發(fā)展智力和道德品質(zhì)的環(huán)境，為他們賦能，使他們能夠?yàn)樯磉吷鐓^(qū)和更廣闊的世界帶來積極的影響。這種教育路徑可能并不總是符合傳統(tǒng)的排名標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，但它構(gòu)成了我們教育理念的核心。當(dāng)然，如果它獲得大家認(rèn)可，這也是值得慶祝的——更重要的是，這是讓我們與其他志同道合的教育機(jī)構(gòu)進(jìn)行有意義對話的機(jī)會。

雖然我們感謝外界的認(rèn)可，但它不會成為我們前路的束縛。我們依然致力于自己的使命：教育學(xué)生的良好品格，促進(jìn)社會創(chuàng)新，培養(yǎng)我們的學(xué)生成為變革的推動者。我們的社區(qū)——家長、學(xué)生和教職員工——的不懈努力和奉獻(xiàn)精神才真正定義了我們的成功。

KingLead hosted the 2024 Nobel Innovation Forum on April 21st, 2024 at the China National Convention Center. Daystar was listed in the"China International School CompetitivenessRanking 2004", "2024 Top 100 International Schools in China in Brand Value List"...and Daniel Williams, Executive Head of Schools of Daystar Academy was invited to deliver a keynote speech.

KingLead Nobel Innovation Forum who state they are committed to being academically led and innovation-driven, is one of the most influential annual event of international schools.

The Forum invited leading academics including Nobel laureates in Economics, Physiology or Medicine, Chemistry and Physics — the world's top scholars, and dozens of well-known international or private schools from all over the country to discuss the trend and future of international education, and share ideas and practices for the cultivation of innovative talents.

Daystar is the first school in China to create a K-12 Social Innovation Program to cultivate students to be social innovators - able to deeply care, connect and take practical actions to solve social and environmental problems using novel solutions in communities and beyond. Executive Head of Schools, Daniel Williams was invited to deliver a speech on Cultivating a Culture of Social Innovation. He introduced the unique history of Daystar, the origins and practices of implementing Social Innovation Program within a values led community. Speaking with passion on the need for our students and our communities to jointly address both local and global issues using novel approaches, he made a deep impression on the audience.

While talking about Daystar’s recognition by KingLead, Mr. Williams said,

Our journey at Daystar is not driven by a pursuit of rankings. Instead, we focus on creating an environment that nurtures intellectual and moral development, empowering our students to positively impact their communities and the wider world. This approach may not always align with traditional ranking criteria, but it forms the core of our educational philosophy. If it results in recognition, then that's to be welcomed and celebrated. Being recognized provides us not just with a reason to celebrate, but more importantly, to engage in meaningful dialogue with other like-minded educational institutions. It allows us to share and learn from others who see innovation, rather than adherence to tradition alone, as a pathway to educational excellence.

While we appreciate the external acknowledgment, it does not dictate our path forward.
