同時，我想感謝一個特殊的部門，蘭州大學保衛部。我常常在蘭州大學的校園內看到拾荒的老人。每每看到，我都不免動容，一方面為他們拾荒而感到酸楚，另一方面因為蘭州大學的保安總會默許拾荒的老人進來，讓他們獲得謀生的空間，當然，拾荒的老人們并非亂翻垃圾，我經常看到老人拿起垃圾桶旁邊的掃帚，轉將地上的垃圾仔仔細細清理干凈。我想這份真心是雙向的，蘭州大學為老人 “大庇天下寒士俱歡顏”，而老人為蘭州大學 “灑掃庭除報此恩”。

In his dissertation, 2026 graduate Feng Zidong wrote that he was often moved by the sight of an elderly woman collecting cardboard boxes and bottles inside the university. Although the campus operates an appointment-entry system, security guards would silently allow her in each day.

Feng said the woman would carefully clean the area around rubbish bins after sorting recyclables and return the trash to its proper place. He described the relationship as "mutual sincerity" — with the university offering the elderly woman space to make a living, and the woman repaying the kindness by helping keep the campus clean.

對于目前的我，能為老人做的或許只有多喝幾瓶水，多網購幾個快遞紙盒，畢竟我只能“窮則獨善其身”；希望未來的我，能以今日求學道路為根基，成為一個稍稍有能力的人，不求“達則兼濟天下”，只求能為有需要的人提供盡可能的幫助。這是蘭州大學及蘭州大學保衛部教給我的重要一課。

據奔流新聞報道，馮紫東目睹這一幕已有三年。學校實行預約制進校，但保衛處總是默默放行一位推車弓背行走的老奶奶。老人每天進校翻撿紙殼、瓶子，翻完后會用保潔員的掃帚將垃圾桶周邊清掃干凈，再把垃圾歸位。

馮紫東認為，這是人性本善的體現，也是一件非常有意義的事，因此特意寫進論文致謝里。他認為，蘭州大學不僅為他提供了學習和科研的條件，這件事更深刻塑造了他的價值觀，所以必須記錄下來。
