當(dāng)?shù)貢r間6月20日，電影《給阿嬤的情書》歐洲首映禮在英國倫敦舉行。

A special European premiere of the Chinese box-office hit movie Dear You was held in London on Saturday.

這部以潮汕方言為主的影片，通過“僑批”講述一段家族往事。潮汕方言中，“批”意為“信”，華僑家書和匯款憑證同體的“銀信合封”被稱為“僑批”，是上個世紀南洋華僑與故鄉(xiāng)通信的主要方式。

The film tells the story of migrants from China's Chaoshan region who journey to Southeast Asia in search of a better life, and captures the pain of separation and the longing for home across generations.

據(jù)中國日報報道，首映禮現(xiàn)場，主辦方特地為觀眾準備了400多包紙巾。來自羅馬尼亞的觀眾達米安告訴中國日報：“我一直在哭，發(fā)的紙巾可真是派上用場了。這部電影能觸動許多人，應(yīng)該會在全球廣受歡迎。”

Expecting an emotional response at the premiere, organizers made 400 packs of tissues available for audience members.

據(jù)新華社報道，倫敦華埠商會執(zhí)行會長黃萍在首映禮上說：“影片傳遞的家國情懷和血脈親情，激勵我們傳承重情重義、愛國愛鄉(xiāng)的精神品格。”她表示，影片中的親情、鄉(xiāng)愁與陪伴，喚起了許多海外華僑華人的共同記憶和情感共鳴。

Huang Ping, executive chairwoman of the London Chinatown Chinese Association, said at the premiere that the film's themes of family affection, homesickness and companionship are familiar to many Chinese living overseas." The feelings for family and homeland conveyed by the film transcend time and distance and the film also reflects the Chinese values of cherishing personal bonds," she said.

演員鄭潤奇通過視頻連線與現(xiàn)場觀眾交流。他說，希望影片中的潮汕方言，能讓長期生活在海外的潮汕籍華僑華人感受到鄉(xiāng)音的親切。

Actor Zheng Runqi, speaking to the audience via video link, said many people from the Chaoshan region, along with other overseas Chinese, have put down roots in Southeast Asia and Europe. "I hope that hearing the familiar dialect in the film brings them a sense of happiness," Zheng said.

放映過程中，不少觀眾數(shù)度落淚。影片結(jié)束后，現(xiàn)場響起熱烈掌聲，觀眾久久沒有散去。在潮州長大、赴英國求學(xué)和生活的劉師屹說，他的父母在中國觀看影片后，在家中找到了保存數(shù)十年的僑批。“僑批這類家族檔案讓身處海外的華人了解家族歷史，感受與故鄉(xiāng)的聯(lián)系。”

Liu Shiyi, a London-based entrepreneur who grew up in Chaozhou, South China's Guangdong province, told Xinhua that his parents subsequently found old "qiaopi" preserved by the family after watching the film in China. The letters had been sent back by his great-grandfather's elder and younger brothers.

據(jù)介紹，該片將于26日起在英國和愛爾蘭院線上映。

這部低成本影片自4月30日在中國大陸上映以來，截至6月20日，國內(nèi)票房已突破18億元，成為今年目前中國票房第二高的影片。

The modest-budget feature had, by June 20, grossed more than 1.8 billion yuan ($265.9 million) at the domestic box office since its Chinese mainland release on April 30, making it China's second-highest-grossing film so far this year.
