5月23日夜間至24日凌晨，重慶市永川區突發瞬時極端特大暴雨引發山洪和地質災害，導致轄區茶山竹海街道、中山路街道、雙石鎮等多地出現散點式災情。截至25日15時30分，共導致9人死亡，11人失聯。
