我走得很慢，鞋底叩在石板上，發出空靈的清響，在這幽長的巷子里，一圈一圈地蕩開。這聲音，仿佛不是我在走，而是時光本身，在用它的腳尖，輕輕地踱步。我忽然想，這巷子，百十年來，該見證過多少這樣的行走？是撐著油紙傘、匆匆歸家的長衫背影，還是提著菜籃、與鄰人閑話家常的溫婉婦人？那些早已消散的足音，是否也像此刻的我一樣，曾在這雨里，等過一個不知何時會出現的、溫暖的身影？

巷口那株老梧桐，又飄下幾片大大的葉子，金黃里透著褐斑，像寫滿了秋信的郵票，靜靜地貼在濕漉漉的石板上。我停下腳步，看著它們。生命中的許多美好，不正是這樣不期而至的么？譬如這場雨，譬如這片葉，譬如那個轉過巷角，帶著微笑走來的你。

雨聲漸漸稀疏了。空氣被洗得透明，遠處隱約傳來誰家收音機里咿咿呀呀的戲曲聲，隔著雨簾，聽不真切，反而更添了幾分靜謐。我依舊慢慢地走著，心里是滿滿的安寧。我知道，我等的，不只是一個具體的你，更是這整個安詳的、被雨水浸潤的秋日午后，是這一份將遇未遇時，心里微微漾開的、甜蜜的波瀾。

當那一刻真的來臨，或許也就像這一片落葉，輕輕地，不著痕跡地，落在我的肩頭。而這之前所有的等待，便都成了最美的鋪墊。
