5月11日，珠穆朗瑪峰南坡大本營附近發生雪崩，滑落的雪流掀起強烈氣浪直沖而下。親歷者稱，事發時自己正在上廁所，眼見雪流逼近、氣浪迎面撲來，急忙躲進廚房帳避險。此次雪崩未造成人員傷亡，目前營地運行正常。
