邵慎亭交友廣泛，新中國開國副總理黃炎培1951年曾親自來大連找這位1927年在大連結交的好朋友。他卻不知道，邵竟然和他同居北京城，而且在1950年病逝了。
邵慎亭與張大千也有很深的交情，這幅畫就是邵慎亭從大連帶到北京的張大千的一幅鮮為人知的作品，不見于張大千作品集。
