6月26日，海南海口市西秀鎮榮山寮海域及沿岸沙灘出現大量死魚，當地相關部門協調鏟車到場清理。28日，記者從海口市西秀鎮政府獲悉，近岸海域發生赤潮，赤潮由海洋浮游植物爆發引起，海藻大量繁殖造成海域溶氧量不足，導致魚排養殖區內養殖魚類缺氧死亡。
