Yahooranked second,but followed a downward trend.Starting at28% in 2001, its number of usersfell marginally with significant fluctuations,reaching20% in 2010.

Theremaining three search engines attracted fewer users. Among them, Mirosoftswas used more frequently, with its figuredropping graduallyfrom 16% to 9% between 2004 and late 2007,followed bya steady increase toits initial figure in 2009.The last year saw a marginal dipby 1% in 2010.By contrast, the other two choiceswere much less favored. Ask Jeeves’s usagerose graduallyfrom 8%to a peak of11% between 2001 and 2005, after whichthere was a marked decrease with minor fluctuationsto 5% in 2010.Likewise, AOCexhibited a similar trend,fluctuating slightlybetween 7% and 10% during the same period.
